Research shows that children from families on a tight budget play fewer sports. Not knowing which sport they can and want to play, not seeing the benefits and not being able to find a suitable offer are common reasons for not playing sports. With the ASML Zomerspelen, children get moving and come into contact with different sports in a fun and accessible way. By introducing them to different sports activities, we aim to make them enthusiastic and help them finding a suitable sport in their neighbourhood. After the programme, families are guided to become and stay members. If membership fees are a barrier, these barriers are removed in cooperation with Stichting Leergeld and Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur.
Commissioned by the BrabantSport Fonds, More2Win takes care of the development and implementation of the programme. The first weeks involve a low-threshold introduction to the sports on offer in the middle of the neighbourhood. Think of a local schoolyard or Cruyff Court. In the following weeks, they are introduced to sports associations as activities move to the clubs. The final event took place in the last week at FC Eindhoven's Jan Louwers Stadium. With a true opening ceremony and meet & greets with top Team BrabantSport athletes and artist performances.
